World Resorts

World Resorts of Distinction bring to you the luxury and indulgence of some of the world's most favoured honeymoon destinations. Among the selection, there are several resorts in the Maldives and Fiji that are the perfect recipe for total relaxation. These include:

Makunudu Island in the Maldives is a 6 acre island, just a 50 minute speedboat ride from Male Airport. 36 Beachfront bungalows in the traditional rustic design of the Maldives incorporate all the necessary modern facilities with lashings of privacy.

Soneva Fushi Resort is on the privately owned and uninhabited tropical island of Kunfunadhoo in the Baa Atoll of the Maldives. A quick 25 minute flight from Male brings you to this island. Highly rich in vegetation, at 1.4 km long and 400 metres wide, it's one of the largest in the Maldives. Its size means you can enjoy adventures on bicycle or by foot through one of the island's hidden trails. In the Baa Atoll, you're spoilt for choice with numerous desert islands to picnic on and a host of dive sites to explore.

Kunfunadhoo is enclosed by a coral reef and surrounded by a shallow lagoon with crystal clear waters to dip in. You may also enjoy the services of professional beauty therapists and masseuses at the resort. Coco Palm Resort on the private island of Dunikolu is also in the Maldives' Baa Atoll. This island is acclaimed as the most beautiful in the region and a new luxury resort boasts 100 villas - many scattered amongst the palm trees and others over the lagoon. As well as modern conveniences in every villa, some even have their own private swimming pool.

Tokoriki in Fiji is the only island resort in the Mamanuca Islands that consists entirely of individual bures - no hotel room block or duplexes here. All 28 bures face the ocean. The 3 honeymoon bures offer total luxury for an intimate honeymoon escape - totally private, they feature a king size bed, sitting area, a private deck with oversized hammock and a double bathtub and double outdoor shower. These three beautiful bures are built on stilts and tucked into the side of the hill with great views of the ocean and no-one else can see in.

Vatulele Fiji was the brainchild of Emmy award winning Australian producer Henry Crawford and partner Martin Livingston.

On one of the southern Fijian islands, Vatulele is world renowned for its luxury, attention to detail and cuisine. The large island is shared with four villages with a total population of 900 who live a very traditional way of life, farming, fishing and making 'tapa' cloth from the bark of the paper Mulberry tree. In the lagoon and waters around Vatulele, indulge in all kinds of water activity, from snorkelling and diving to sailing and paddling. Guides can take you on hikes into the jungle, to see ancient petroglyphs and important archaeological sites and to swim in underground caves. For a little romance, enjoy a picnic on a secluded beach. Vatulele is the ultimate in relaxed chic.
