Not every jeweller speaks of being passionate about the work but Nicholas Pike believes it is essential. Highly respected for his design skills and his attention to detail, everything he does is hallmarked with his flair and imagination.
Pike’s innovative designs have been recognised locally and internationally, rewarding him with a client base that has grown exponentially via word of mouth. Nearly three decades later, his creativity shows no sign of abating.
His specialty is innovative designs and fresh approaches to the presentation of the piece. “We celebrate the completion of a challenging piece, confident that we have triumphed where others have failed.”
Nicholas certainly has been rewarded for his dedication to excellence, winning countless awards and commissions from around the globe, all testaments to his signature style – clean, elegant and striking with a constant contemporary edge.
Pike’s also a dab hand at what he calls jewellery ‘makeovers’ – remodelling old pieces to reinvent them, making them more wearable and versatile. “Jewellery today should be about everyday wear. My clients love to wear their pieces, enjoying them with a pair of jeans or with the little black dress.”
Nicholas truly loves the entire process from talking to clients and sketching their choices to displaying loose gems and partly made pieces. Being there at the end when a client collects their piece is the ultimate reward. Not surprisingly, Nicholas has built a broad and loyal clientele who trust him and his quality of work.
In an industry that is complex and often confusing, Nicholas has a straightforward approach, earning him a reputation for honesty and integrity, where there is no compromise on the process or the item. “I’d rather have one beautiful piece than ten cheap ones off the rack,” says Nicholas and we couldn’t agree more.
