Helen Manuell is the award-winning designer behind the label Manuell & Moore that first opened its doors in 2003. Winning two “Gown of the Year” awards as well as becoming a featured contestant in the reality program Project Runway Australia in 2008, Helen has gone from strength to strength in the world of couture fashion.
Helen’s creations have featured prominently at the Brownlow, the Logies, the AFI Awards and several other red carpet events while her celebrated clients include Rebecca Maddern, Kat Stewart, Natalie Gruzlewski, Elise Mooney, Livinia Nixon and Giaan Rooney.
Ideas come together in Helen’s Malvern studio where she is inspired by both the 1920s and 1940s eras, as well as by architecture, Japanese art forms and her clients. “Form, functionality and design are the three elements that must be present in all my work,” says Helen.
Her signature use of draping that celebrates the silhouette of the female form by recreating the classical and elegant hourglass figure, producing gowns that curve, shape and flatter the bride. Ultimately Helen loves creating beautiful designs that reflect her inspirations and passions.
All gowns are made to measure where each dress is tailored to the bride’s requirements so that it reflects her individuality. Helen can also design outfits for bridesmaids, mothers of the bride or groom and guests alike.
